Leadership Transformation Group has been given the opportunity by New York City's Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) to present two leadership seminars on September 12th, 2012 to all NYC employees at their annual EXPO held at 2 Washington Street.
Due to our success across the city within a variety of public and non-profit agencies, LTG partners decided to offer distinctive seminars that are less traditional than most management and leadership offerings.
The first, delivered from 9:00 am to 12 noon, will be on "If the Work Is Sacred, Then So Are You." LTG's vast experience with New York City's dedicated public sector staff has shown time and time again that only through self-care as an integral part of one's can staff remain healthy, balanced and focused on the crisis driven work so common to the public sector. We will explore the mindset that keeps this from happening, and how to shift it on the job in ways that improve staff well-being as well as improve performance. Concrete skills and exercises will be a part of the morning activity--it promises to be a lively and engaged presentation!
The second seminar will be from 1:30-5:00 pm and is titled "Creating A Culture of Curiosity to Improve Staff Performance." Today's limited resources and smaller staffing make a traditional "command" structure to get the work done increasingly outdated and outmoded--and ineffective. LTG will explore ways to shift away from a command form of management to an inspiring form of leadership built on reflection, inquiry and conversation that, rather than diminishing performance can improve it greatly. Individual and group activities will be offered so that staff participants learn concrete ways to initiate steps towards a "culture of curiosity" rather than command that improves morale and productivity at the same time.
